Historic town, Domokos, seat of the homonymous province, is built in a wonderful location, with a beautiful view of the Thessalian plain. In antiquity it was called the Miracle (Miracles). Domokos was a commercial center during the Ottoman domination. The defeat of the Greek Army in the Battle of Domokos in May 1897 marked the end of the Greek-Turkish War of 1897. Domokos has 1,556 inhabitants. It is 36 km away from Lamia.
